What does Oteenow do?

Oteenow is a non-profit employment and training organization, that can assist with funding for training programs that lead to employment.

Who can apply?

• Be First Nations

• Living in Edmonton 

• Be over 18 years of age

• Be unemployed

• Be ready willing and able

What documents do I need to provide?
Please have the following available for intake:

• Your full legal name so we can add it to our database if it does not already exist

• Social Insurance Number (SIN)

• Treaty Number

• Valid form of Government identification

• Current Resume

• Address verification

What does Oteenow fund?

We can assist with funding for employment related training needs; tuition living allowance, travel, daycare fees, etc. Criteria for funding must be met.

What services does Oteenow offer?

We offer level 1 and level 2 services.

Level 1: Resume/ cover letter assistance, job search, referrals, resources, career counselling, and career planning.

Level 2: Group skills development training, safety tickets and PPE, and individual skill development training. *

* Level 2 services; Application criteria must be met.

What happens after I make an inquiry?

Inquiries are reviewed with reception and forwarded to our career and employment counsellors or the appropriate staff member. Contact will be followed up within 48 hours in most circumstances.

Can I make an inquiry on behalf of another individual?

No. It's important to speak with the individual making the inquiry directly, to provide appropriate and accurate information.

Can I make an appointment with a counsellor?

Our intake process is by first come, first serve basis and inquiries are forwarded in rotation of available Career & Employment Counsellors. We do not schedule appointments in advance.

• Upgrading

• Workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.

• Continuing education

• Entrepreneurial endeavors
