Preparing First Nations' People Today
for Employment Tomorrow

Oteenow Employment and Training Society provides the following labour market programs and services for First Nations individuals residing in Oteenow's Edmonton Service Area.

Target Groups

We provide enhanced services to First Nations targeted clients including persons with disabilities, youth, women, unskilled workers, single (lone) parents and adult males requiring special assistance. Our objective is to help clients find jobs that are in demand in Edmonton.

Demand Areas

We sponsor initiatives in:

  • Pre-apprenticeship training for the construction industry
  • Pre-apprenticeship training for the oil and gas industries
  • Computer and information technology training
  • Nursing assistant training for the health care profession
  • Trucking for the transportation industry
  • Various environmental occupations including firefighting
  • Safety training and safety tickets
  • Other training initiatives as required to meet local labour market demands
